The great single-handed transatlantic race to Guadeloupe starts from Saint-Malo every four years. Almost two weeks before the start, the race village sets up around the docks at the foot of the ramparts, and the boats parade in front of the town.
The international festival of books and film, born in Saint-Malo in 1990: writers, film-makers, illustrators and comic artists from all over the world, at the Palais du Grand Large and across the town.
The festival of comics and projected images, held since 1981: exhibitions, signings, live drawing concerts.
The independent music festival: a summer edition at the Fort de Saint-Père, about fifteen minutes from Saint-Malo by car, with a shuttle between the festival venues; and a winter edition between Saint-Malo and Rennes.
